This is a short tutorial on how to navigate the Wiki.js website. More information can be found on their guide.
How do I find pages??
Pages are listed on a sidebar to the left of the page content. On mobile, the sidebar is accessed via a button at the bottom-left.
Generally, only major pages are shown on the sidebar by default, grouped by category. To view all pages alphabetically, click the “Browse” button.
How do I create a page?
-
Click on the "New Page" button.

-
The editor will open up. You can now start writing! Please, check your spelling and grammar. It really isn't that difficult, and someone else will have to fix it if you don't do it.
-
Click the pen icon in the sidebar to customize page settings, such as title, description, and tags.
-
Click "Save" when you are done.
-
Choose a URL for the new page. If you want to create a folder, use additional slashes. For example:
/cats/fine. Note: Spaces don't work in URLs!
Guidelines for improving the Wiki
-
Write with purpose.
You don't have to be super strict when writing, but remember, the wiki's main goal is to instruct and inform. Focus on useful, factual information. -
Fix errors and grammar mistakes.
Even minor changes, such as finding grammar mistakes and errors, can help. Don't feel bad if you aren't adding new content. -
Update information.
If something on the wiki is outdated, please update it. Make sure your changes are correct without needlessly removing any information. You can also expand on things that you believe are unclear or unexplained. -
Add new information, when needed.
Big Cat Bot updates don't happen very often, but when they do, it's your time to shine and make some updates and changes. Speed is appreciated but prioritize making sure your information is correct. If someone else already documented a new feature, check their grammar and whether their changes are factually correct, as the first versions are usually the ones with the most mistakes. -
Do nothing if there's nothing to do.
If there is nothing new, and you can't do anything from the points above, then you are out of luck. Do not add filler content or do excessive changes. -
Use sources or evidence when possible.
If you are explaining how something works (like a feature, rarity, or command), try to back it up with any reliable sources such as the official Cat Bot discord server, GitHub commits on the Cat Bot GitHub, or update announcements. This helps keep the wiki trustworthy and makes it easier for others to verify or update the information later, for any changes. also, don't be afraid to help people.
