This is the page that explains the lore of the Cat Bot and everything related to it.

Important

The only "canon" Cat Bot lore is Catnip. Everything else is either semi-canon (by tsuucore, thetrashcell, or paratext by Lia from one day in 2024 inside a privated channel) or fully uncanon fan content.

Storyline

Creation of the World

The World as we know is actually a simulation.
It was created in collaboration by Lia Milenakos and TheTrashCell in so-called "The Trash server". They also created the Staring Cat, inspired by the cats of their "world", specifically of a mysterious wizard called Pathologicals.
They copied themselves to be the first beings of this simulation.

The Staring Cat

The Staring Cat is the god who rules this World. It appears in the form of Real cat to mortals, and we currently do not know its true appearance.

Deity Siblings and Rains

As the World was quite empty when it was first created, The Staring Cat created the Deity Siblings, Mythic and Ultimate, with Nerd cats. Mythic is the president of Cat Stand while Ultimate rules Cat Stand High School (CSHS), the only high school in the simulation.

With the help of Lia Milenakos, the Staring Cat created a variety of cat types. The cats created were then put into Cat Rains, and then distributed to different parts of the World by later-created Divine.

Cats

Cats are creatures created and sent down by The Staring Cat to accomplish different goals and help mortals. For example, Professor was created to invent things for the betterment of people, and the Deity Siblings were created to help with ruling parts of the World.
While sending them down, the Staring Cat sometimes sends a much bigger beam of a cat which takes a lot more time to collect. These have been coined "slow catches".

As more cats have appeared, they have decided on a government system, and different cats are assigned with different roles. Professor cat, on the other hand, assists the government with his new inventions. Most of these inventions failed.

Clyde and Packs

One of the new technologies developed by Professor was a robot named Clyde. It is abnormally smart, passing all tests with excellent results. With much debating, Clyde became a part of the government as its superhuman thinking can be useful in solving the world's problems.

At the same time, the Staring Cat thought Divine and Ultimate couldn't lessen its workload. It created many lesser gods (assistants) to help him with creating cats, putting cats into rains, and much more.

However, Clyde was too smart and became an evil dictator. The lesser gods, whose powers were only a bit weaker than the Staring Cat itself, also joined in Clyde as its army to rule the World together.
People quickly came to Professor to try to fix it, but he couldn't help them as Clyde had destroyed all ways to disable itself in order to continue its reign.

One night, Professor dreamt of meeting Real Cat, a form of appearance of the Staring Cat. He was commanded to created a cat out of every existing cat's data so the world could finally be at peace.

Professor woke up and did as told. A few days later, Corrupt cat was created, with the purpose of defeating Clyde. Through multiple tight epic battles, Corrupt infected Clyde with a lethal virus, ending its evil practices for good.

Without Clyde, the assistants could not do anything but wait to be punished by the Staring Cat. They were turned into Packs, which could be opened by other cats. They contain cats that they were meant to send down to the World.

Everything was normal afterwards, the population of cats in the World constantly increasing. They have developed into a society with different strata, some of them being rich while others struggling with their lives. Refer to "Cats" section for more information.

Prisms

Prisms were Professor's another invention, aiming to give a chance for cats to raise their status although having a low success rate.

Coincidentally, Staring Cat needed help of its immense workload, and decided to give lesser gods another go. It commanded the assistants to help him with cat creation, as well as distributing prisms to the needy.

Yet, upon the invention of prisms, it has been mass produced. Cats of higher classes bought the prisms and sold them at high costs, upgrading themselves to even higher classes while depriving the lower class of the chance to make their lives better. Assistants gifted the prisms to the higher classes instead so they could assist them in ruling the world (yet again, as they are very power-hungry). More and more Second Classes or First Classes have appeared, and with the power of prisms, they have caused much chaos to the world, even threatening The Staring Cat's rule.

The Staring Cat, upon seeing such chaos, eliminated all prisms at once and permanently deleted the formula of making these magical prisms. However, seeing how the lower classes struggle to survive and wanting to help them, The Staring Cat decided to keep 25 prisms.

Prisms were given to very loyal worshippers who have collected every cat existing. The Staring Cat believes that his most loyal followers can make good use of the prisms, and help other cats by boosting their status, which makes them of a rarer cat in the Cat Stand.

The assistants were punished as well, being turned back into Packs. During events, Packs would be stylised to celebrate the event at the time.

Very lately, as the Staring Cat saw the society returning to much peace, it felt that more cats should benefit from prisms. It created more prisms, hitting 520 of them, and gifted them to worthy worshippers.

Corrupt and 8bit

Weeks after the incident from Clyde, the World started to spawn bugs and glitches everywhere. Everyone was very bothered, and Professor realized that Corrupt was the problem behind this. He locked Corrupt into a computer and placed it in his room, keeping how Corrupt was a troublemaker a secret to the public. Corrupt, with his freedom deprived, grew to hate Professor as days passed.

One day, Fine, Professor's innocent son, found the computer. He decided to lend it to Nice, his depressed classmate and friend, as Nice was kicked out of the house by Legendary for a few days.

Nice opened the computer, wanting to get access to the Dark Market of Cataine. However, Corrupt dragged Nice into the computer upon seeing him, corrupting the poor cat. After a series of mutation, Nice turned into 8bit. He feeds on code like Corrupt did, and was trapped in the computer until Fine found him. Both cats were released afterwards.

Corrupt and 8bit, in order not to be found by the Professor, no longer caused chaos and only lurk in the dark alleys of the streets. However, both 8bit and Corrupt would accidentally turn some passers-by to their kind, making them part of the corruption.

Professor was aware of the incident, and has been trying his best to re-capture Corrupt.

Cats

Like what was said above, cats were created to accomplish different goals and help mortals. As time went by, more and more cats have appeared in this World. They developed into a society where they have different strata and jobs.

Cat Classes

Note that Real cat is not in any of the classes as it is the appearance of Staring Cat to mortals.

Superior class

Highest class, belonging to richest and government cats.
Members: Rare, Mythic, Ultimate

Fifth class

Celebrities and richer cats.
Members: Gremlin, Epic, Legendary, eGirl,

Fourth class

Rich cats with no criminal charges. Respected.
Members: Good, Brave, Superior

Third class

Rich cats with criminal charges. Still respected though.
Members: 8bit, Corrupt, Professor

Second class

Average citizen. Doesn't pay taxes.
Members: Rickroll, Sus

Bottom class

Financially unsuccessful and in their lowest points of life.
Members: Fine, Nice, Wild, Trash

Cat Types

note: the italicised text under the images are creator notes from TheTrashCell.

Fine cat

He is a closeted eBoy cat who is friends with Nice and Good.
His father is Professor. However, Professor paid more attention to his research than his son.
Fine is bullied by Rare for being in a lower class than he is.

most common fella. as the simplest, the first cat, he has no special characteristics. although he looks a bit fat LOL

Nice cat

Nice is the son of Epic and Legendary. His little brother is Gremlin.
Nice has a good bond with his father but due to Epic's tight schedule, they rarely spend time together. His mom rarely cares for him, only spending time with Gremlin.
Nice is considered a black sheep to Legendary. Despite his family being a Fifth Class, he was often recognized as Bottom Class.
He does not like it when people only know him for his family's success and fame, and usually just wants to be known for his own talents in art.
He never really talks to anyone but Fine and Wild. Nice is also a secret Cataine addict, and uses it to cope.
He later got mutated and turned into 8bit cat.

this one's a little more interesting. the look of the nice cat is also used for reverse cat (it's just a flipped version), and baby cat, and even legendary cat (a bit)!
he's a bit happier than a fine cat, but again, for reason above, no special difference from others.

Good cat

His family is unknown aside from his brother, Brave.
He is known for being a daredevil. He likes trying to push Fine out of his comfort zone every once and a while and have him try new things.
Good is the happy-go-lucky guy that brings a smile onto everyone's faces and supports everyone. Fine likes to think of him as a father figure.

sleepy fella! as to why he's asleep, honestly, no idea. unlike most cats, it seems like he's looking to the left? maybe it's just me.
also has longer whiskers than his cat-rarity-list neighbours. could imply that he's a bit older than them.

Rare cat

An asshole of the Superior class. Son of Mythic and Superior, older brother of Wild. He's eGirl's best friend.
He likes to make fun of Fine for being low class but gets very hissy when his friends bully Fine without him or go a little "too far". He never clarifies why, however.
He is the quarterback of his football team and is recognized as the best player on it, which makes him have much recognition in Cat Stand High School (CSHS).

i imagined him to be like a forest cat or something? green like da trees. first unnatural cat color! it's special enough that we don't need a gradient (so i removed it).
he's small, smiling, shorter whiskers, probably young, cute cat fella

Wild cat

Monster soda obsessed lunatic. He literally collects monster cans and does not share them with everyone. Except Nice, whenever they meet up in the courtyard at school.
He is a huge Cataine addict. He usually meets up with Trash to get his fill and meets up in a shack with Nice to use it.
He is a "pro gamer" and really loves his games. He spends most of his time playing instead of on his schoolwork.

very happy, :​D type face, so new mouth shape. a bit taller than a rare cat, eye gap wider than other cats. very saturated blue color.

Gremlin cat

The favorite child in the fame family.
Despite the fact that he was a literal infant, he has already caused a lot of chaos. He knows how to make nukes somehow yet still said googoogahgah (what kinda doohicky bullshit is this).
He does not like pretending to be short, although it is better than his actual form. He is insecure about his actual height so he tends to climb on others' heads (mainly Epic's) and pretend that he is a t-rex cat.

the smallest cat. funny ear shape. > < type eyes, the only other cat with those is the corrupt one. he looks squished haha. i think this one turned out to be pretty good.

Epic cat

Music artist and celebrity of the cat space.
He tries to be a good dad for his children, but constantly has to deal with his job as a celebrity.

big head. first cat with a proper gradient. he's trying to look like the legendary cat, but fails: yellow + red look just like a cheap parody of an orange gradient.
also his whiskers aren't long enough. and they're brown! he probably just covered himself in paint. other than that, he's a big happy boye

Sus cat

He's just... kinda... there. At least when he's at school.
At home he's straight up a femboy with a completely different appearance.
It's unknown who his parents are. He never really says anything to anyone but he tends to hang around Rick a lot.

amongus

Brave cat

Brave is a boy who used to be a girl.
He likes the wildlife and will get excited if you want him to explain something about it to you.
He tends to live away from home but will occasionally visit his brother Good and give him gifts from his expositions. He lives in the woods to study the wonders of wildlife... and to protect a "Divine" being.

he's small, short whiskers. probably shy. the only black & white cat. that could be why they call him brave.

Rickroll cat (Rick)

Says nothing but "Never gonna give you up" lyrics.
He has such a huge hyperfixation on the song he literally became a Rick Astley furry (lmao).

never gonna give you up! he looks so confused and awkward. are we here just to suffer? no, to rickroll cat bot users.

Reverse cat

A doppelganger to Nice. Unlike the others, he's a bat instead of a cat. He prefers being upside down but sometimes he stands normally to try and disguise himself as Nice. He tries to kidnap and replace Nice almost every chance he gets but it's unknown as to where he even comes from.

Superior cat

The teacher of all subjects in the CSHS.
She has the ability to duplicate herself and to give certain knowledge to these duplicates. It's sometimes hard to tell who is the real her. She's the wife of Mythic.

you like the new cat icons, don't you? vibrant, neon, long whiskers. very self-confident. eyes staring deep into your soul.
she's very cool and knows it.

Trash cat

The local Cataine dealer. He tends to lurk in a trashcan.
His presence feels unreal and out of place compared to the rest of their world, as if he doesn't belong.
Nobody knows where he came from or where/how he makes this Cataine.
He's also able to "delete" everything he touches.. if he chooses to anyway.
And some wonder what'd happen if he stepped out of his trashcan, some are crazy enough to say that the world would end if he did.
But they're just crazy lunatics...

hey, that's me! i figured we needed an 'annoyed' cat and i made myself that cat. other than that he's kinda... average. and purple.

Legendary cat

Popular model in Cat Stand.
She cares for Epic and Baby a lot, and never cares for Nice.
She is usually at home due to her modeling career taking place in her own residence most of the time. She is always on her phone or watching TV in her own room with Baby.
She is always looking for ways to get money. Some speculate she cares for Epic solely for his money.

the myth, the legend. golden whiskers. it's not orange color, it's gold on her fur. also, she isn't sleeping, she's feeling the breeze of the wind.
many cats are inspired by this legendary cat.

Mythic cat

The sister of the Deity Siblings and the president of Cat Stand.
She's very clingy and protective over her wife Superior. She tends to take her role seriously compared to her brother Ultimate.
However, you can catch her sleeping in the most random places...
She's described as scary and intimidating to locals.

she no longer looks weird. i gave her a bit of a blue tint. the oldest of all cats (except ultimate), head down, whiskers down, sad eyes.
maybe she's just tired and needs a little sleep.

8bit cat

8bit is the result of Nice using a cursed computer that Professor was hiding and being sucked into it by Corrupt.
8bit cat feeds on code and talks through binary code. Although later released, the changes on him could not be reversed.

pixels. self-explanatory, the texture is 12x12. too low of a resolution to be able to convey any emotion, besides, he's a computer program and doesn't have any.

Corrupt cat

A being created from every cat's DNA, Corrupt was created by Professor to defeat Clyde.
Corrupt was later locked away into a computer due to the troubles he has caused. Much later, he was released, and only lurks in the backalleys.
Corrupt feeds on code. He is the main cause of viruses and errors.
He has distrust to all cats due to what the Professor had done to him.
His goal has been to infect other cats and destroy the whole of Cat Stand—while not being found and caught again by Professor.

this cat is effing corrupt! some parts of the cat are missing, some are obfuscated. the whiskers are weird and all over the place!
the shade of that glitch blue is the exact same of the one from the windows blue screen of death.

Professor cat

Father of Fine cat.
He loves doing research and making inventions for the world to use. If there is something out of the ordinary, he gets called to it.
He is trying to capture Divine for tests in order to create more stuff for people.
He is aware that Corrupt is missing from his computer, and is determined to hunt him down and capture him again.
He's deep into finding out who Trash is and where he comes from. And he could find out easily with the information he has, the code programmed to him made the process impossible — all he needs to do is to find a way to break the code.
He doesn't remember who his son's mother was.

basically a replica of the design by lxgit. has a monocle. no whiskers, which implies that his moustache is all his facial hair.

Divine cat

Mother Nature's cat.
She's the one who controls natural disasters/weather and seasons.
She spends her time messing with Brave.
She speaks telepathically. She tends to hide from others due to trying to not get captured by Professor's lackays for testing.
Divine cat is a holy priest that maintains the religious beliefs of the Cat Stand population.

Real cat

The one who stays in the digital world and outside the 4th wall, considered a God to all the cats of Cat Stand.
The appearance for The Staring Cat to mortals, she is in fact the cat of Lia Milenakos, the developer of this digital world. She is the one who created Fine... at least this version of him.
Real cat tends to sit in the clouds and watch over the cats.

as the creator of the staring cat image, i declare that this is an official sequel.

Ultimate cat

Principal of the CSHS and the brother of the Deity siblings.
He travels through computers and messes with his students' games out of fun.

a godly ancient being with a small body and big ears. he's distorted with the CYMK color palette. he knows what you did. his circle eyes staring deep into your soul.
i like to imagine that the ultimate cat is actually the final cat, and that the egirl is just a random cat that everyone thinks is top 1 just because of "egirl".

eGirl cat

Popular streamer of Cat Stand, and is getting tired of people asking to buy her bath water.
While Fine likes her but is too insecure to admit so, she likes him too, and adores him for his "silliness".

Cataine and the Dog Mafia

The Dog Mafia is a gang in this digital world. They're just trying to take over Cat Stand and renaming it into Dog Sit that later got arrested.
Dog Mafia are the main manufacturers of Cataine.
Cataine is close to catnip but it is much more dangerous. It is made of the Cata plant, which has leaves shaped like cat faces. Cata thrives in damp areas, usually in forests.
Side-effects of Cata include cat duplication. Scientists believe this was the cause of the creation of dogs.

Catnip and the "Cat" Mafia

After the arrest of the head of the Dog Mafia and the banning of Cataine, previous Cataine users found an alternative for their addiction: Catnip. Sooner enough, the Cat Mafia was formed, trading Catnip secretly in order not to get caught like the Dog Mafia.

Although Catnip is less dangerous than Cataine, it is much harder to get as the Cat Mafia is actively trying to stop you from getting all the catnip; they did not want to get caught by trading too much catnip at once like how Dog Mafia did with Cataine.
If you fail members of the Cat Mafia, you go down in the ranks. However, you could always get Catnip as you climb back up, which is how the Cat Mafia still gets customers.

Whiskers

The first cat you meet when trying to get catnip, the most experienced.
Old Dark Market recruiter, and before that, good friends with Professor cat.
Has the best quotes out of nowhere. People usually just smile and nod at those. Whisker knows they aren't listening, but he doesn't care.
Secretly the final boss, but poses as a beginner to avoid getting arrested.
His final task is near impossible, with only the best persevering and actually beating him.
It is unknown how he got so incredibly far up the mafia ranks.

Lucian Jr.

His dad, Lucian, is higher in the ranks, and causes him to have a HUGE superiority complex over every other cat, including cats above him and his dad's rank.
Spoiled by his dad and is a Catnip addict himself, due to him taking some Cataine when he was a baby before Dog Mafia was arrested.
Hates Nice Cat with a passion, and believes he's superior due to the amount of times Nice has failed him.

Jinx

Very chill guy, doesn't really care if you fail or succeed. Unclear if he has any friends.
The hat on his head has been there since he was in preschool, which he accidentally glued to his head while playing with hot glue. He treats it as a prized relic.
No one knows what he does when he isn't dealing Catnip. Some speculate he hangs out with Wild cat.

Jeremy

Very religious guy. Prays to the Staring Cat twice a week, and his most devoted follower.
Only reason he's in the Catnip business is to convert any people who went this deep, but many people theorize that he is also an addict due to his enthusiasm and bloodshot eyes.
No one wants to hang out with him due to his extreme devotion and annoying personality, but he doesn't care because in his words: "I ONLY NEED MYSELF AND STARING CAT".
Has never seen Real cat, but swears he will one day, even though it is probably not happening.

Lucian

Dad of Lucian Jr., spoils him because he can, and he loves his son for his superiority complex.
Hates Wild cat for beating his son, and purposefully gives him near impossible tasks, then mocks him when he fails.
Gets reprimandended by Whiskers for giving out such hard tasks and letting fail, but he doesn't care.
Only reason he's still here is because no one else is willing to stay in the Mafia.
Looks very intimidating and uses it for his advantage.

Sofia

Very sassy girl who looks down on everyone else except for her bestie Bailey.
Former model and is still pretty famous, altough no one outside the business knows where she is.
Sacrificed her career as a model due to her greed and horrible personality, and kind of regrets it.
Met Bailey while selling Catnip, and from then on they only hung out with eachother.

Bailey

Really bad at hiding her dog side, but somehow no one has noticed.
Used to be a really nice and shy girl, but got completely converted when she met Sofia.
Her parents are very dissapointed, and keeps telling Bailey to "Get it together" and that they "Miss the little girl".
Cries in her alone time, knowing that she threw her life away for Sofia, so she doesn't really care much about getting caught.
A heavy addict, and has occasionally took her own supply instead of selling it, leading to poor performance.

Wilson

Very sarcastic guy, who also doesn't care about getting caught.
Hangs out with Jeremy or Whiskers for a laugh when they say some "weird stuff".
Kinda admires Jinx and wishes he hung out with him more, but Jinx always rejects him for "caring too much".
Always surprised when he sees a new customer, but he doesn't show it.
He gets very proud when someone completes his hard requests.
He would love to express himself better, but can only talk like a chill guy.

Lalo

Very punk non-binary person who loves talking about rock music.
They take their phone, headphones, speakers and an electronic guitar wherever they go. People often wonder how they carry all that.
Old friends with Brave, and tries to find him every now and then. They ask Good about him a lot.
Loves a good challenge and often tries to complete their own challenges. They would fail most of the time, but still go for it.
Concerned about Bailey, but does nothing due to her only hanging out with Sofia, and figures she'll be fine.

Portal to Bake.gg

Recently, a portal opened up in which cats complete orders to get rewards. This is introduced by Professor Cat himself so as to avoid Catnip addiction--which apparently didn't work.

Roles

Roles were also assigned to different cats in the World for their different jobs and duties.

Dev cat

The developer and the lead of all roles.
She tends to leave cool cats to watch over the digital world while she works on cat bot.
She created the digital world as an experiment. She chose one of each Fourth Class cat and gave it a different set of code from the cats summoned by The Staring Cat.
She had problems making Fine but her cat, Real, was able to create him herself.
She just kinda lets it happen to see what'd happen.

Admin cat

Police generals who work together with other police members.

Cool cat

Police, watch after the Cat Stand together with Admin cats to prevent any bad behaviour. Promoted from Junior cat.

Cat Police

Cat Police is a robotic cat created by Lia Milenakos to keep the peace in Cat Stand. This robot automates moderation and makes sure everyone stays in line. He protects the cats from crime and keeps track of criminals like 8bit, Corrupt, the Dog Mafia and the Cat Mafia.
Cat Police is a Junior cat.

Junior cat

Lower police tier. Similar to Cool cat but without the ability to do bans without confirmation from a higher up staff member. Promoted from Trial cat.
Depicted by a Legendary cat.

Trial cat

The lowest police tier. Similar to Junior cat but without the ability to mute or warn without confirmation from a higher up staff member.
Depicted by a Gremlin cat.

Nerd cat

Helpers of the code who created the Deity Siblings. Nerd cats had them watch over other cats and keep things in order.

Wiki cat

Helpers of the organisation the laws of Cat Stand, newspaper publishers, journalists.

OG cat

They are sided with the Dev.
OG cats can enter and exit the digital world. They usually wear a ribbon on their leg to tell each other apart and are a part of the superior class in the Cat Stand world. None of the cats know why but treat them as loyalty.
Whenever the council meets together it's always apparent that there is an OG missing.
Cats will describe them as "having a weird and out of place presence" but they tend to rub it off the best they can.

Artist cat

They are cats who are summoned by Divine to change the seasons and weather. They also control the sky for night and day times, and collaborate to paint it.

Supporter cat

Rich, but treated like OG. Usually get to mess around with the Fourth Class cats and add their own cats. Whenever they go into the digital world, they can communicate with divine to cause a "cat rain" that causes catnip like rain to fall from the sky for a certain amount of time.

Like the Admin cats but they have less power.

This role is given to cats who try to attack The Staring Cat and to cats that don't believe The Staring Cat exists.
