Cat Bot uses a rarity-based system where cats are divided into different rarity tiers. Common cats appear more frequently, while rare and special cats have lower spawn chances. This system affects collection progress and achievements that can be obtained.

Bonus Cats
All cats have a small chance (~6.5% on average, higher for rarer cats) to trigger a bonus minigame. After catching such a cat, a unique minigame tied to the type of the cat starts, in which you can get 3 more unboosted cats if you succeed. You have 45 seconds to complete the minigame and can only play it if you were one of the people who caught the cat (this includes the initial catcher plus the 3 late catchers).
The exact chance formula is

During rains, bonus cats only give 1 unboosted cat with no minigame.
Auras
Each of your cat types can have an aura, which is glow which is displayed in your inventory, cat type leaderboards, catch messages and a few more.
Here's how to get them:
- Yellow aura: have at least 2% of all cats of that type in the server (example: if there is a total of 100,000 Fine cats in your server, you will need to own atleast 2,000 of them).
- Cyan aura: have at least 4% of all cats of that type in the server.
- Pink aura: have at least 7% of all cats of that type in the server.
- Red aura: be top 1 on the server leaderboard of that cat.
- Rainbow aura: a very small chance to unlock when catching, calculated by the formula:

Running
/leaderboardsupdates all auras; there is additionally a 5% chance of updating specific cat types's auras when catching it.
Custom Cats
These exclusive cats can only be obtained by supporters. Any cats outside of the above table are Custom cats, and will be placed after the eGirl cat in the inventory globally. These have no value and don't count towards the total number of cats. Only one type can be had at a time, and they can't be put in /trade or /gift.
The custom cat can be changed/added/removed using /customcat SUPPORTER-ONLY. To remove a custom cat from your inventory, name it "None".

Cat Bot first spawned a cat on April 21st, 2022. It was a Good cat.
On April 21st, 2022, the available cats likely changed several times.
On April 22nd, 2022, some cats were renamed, a rarity system was added, and original icons were drawn. There were only 12 cat types: Fine, Nice, Good, Rare, Wild, Epic, Brave, Superior, Legendary, Mythic, Divine, and Ultimate.

- Cat type auras were added on August 14th, 2026 along with the server name being changed to "Aurafarm Stand" and the icon to the Staring cat with a rainbow aura. This change lasted 1 day.
- New minigame sentences were added on September 6th 2026.
- Due to the "gorey" language in the sentence "The slaughter's on, I'd love to see you come undone", it got replaced by "From trying a bite of every plate in sight" on November 4th 2026.
