These events happen on a yearly basis. Most events have Cat Rain sales attached and new temporary mechanics or packs.
Some of these events and sales have inconsistent begin and end times.
This occurs every year on February 14th. The status changes from "Catting in X servers" to "Spreading love in X servers".
Roughly on this date, there are Cat Rain sales, usually between 20% and 30%, lasting for a few days. There are usually no functional or cosmetic changes in Cat Bot nor Cat Stand besides the ads for the sale.
On this day in 2024, eGirl cat spawn rates were multiplied by 10, bringing it up to a 0.487% chance of spawning (20 in 4108), from 0.0487%. This also temporarily changed cats' trade values because of how the calculation for value works.
Yup, literally nothing happened on this year's event.
This event happened between February 13-18 2026 and had a 20% rain sale.
When a person gets a Valentine pack, their per-server valentine that they could choose using the /valentine command gets it too. They could also collect valentine packs by getting 50 combined catches.
This event occurs every year on April 1st, with some usually goofy stuff to prank Cat Bot users.
During this April Fools, all cat types got visually swapped. This shouldn't have affected the actual cats, but a bug was found which allowed converting flipped cat types into actual cat types so everything was rolled back when the event ended.
During this April Fools, you were required to pass a CAPTCHA before catching a cat. This was done by redirecting users to a website with a reCAPTCHA which caught the cat upon completion. There was a bug which allowed you to catch cats in any channel (including private ones) and as any user by modifying the website link. This resulted in some users in Cat Stand getting absurdly big "slow catch" times by catching old cats from testing channels and users who never joined the server getting credit for catching cats.
The Cat Stand server icon was also changed to this image to mimic a fake ping from the server:
This April Fools event had a very negative reception so further events no longer interrupt the catching flow.
During this April Fools:
Every cat emoji was a Fine cat to "avoid copyright fees".
"Ads" show on catches promoting different commands for "offsetting costs":
The bot and server logos got changed to the regular Staring cat because of "high costs of the rainbow", the banner for the server was also removed and certain channels and Cat Bot's description were also changed to fit with the theme.
The server name "Cat Stand" got changed to "Budget Cut Stand" and the Cat Bot's status got changed from "Catting in # servers" to "Budget's cut in # servers" because of "budget cuts".
During this April Fools, 46 new "cat types" were added to the bot. These replaced Fine cats and got the normal boosts of a Fine cat when caught.
The catch message for Fine cats was changed for this event:

All cat types added are listed below:
There were stylised spawn images but not emojis (they were just a mystery Fine cat with a question mark).

The Cat Stand server icon was also changed to this image to mimic a fake ping from the server again:

This occurs every year on April 21st, where the cat emojis wear a birthday hat. This event also has the highest Cat Rain sale amounts, up to 50%.
This event also often has some fun activity attached to it:
In 2023, there were no events and Cat Bot just had some updates.
In 2024, there was an almost 20 hour long event held in a separate "Cat Bot Birthday" server which featured normal catching channels along with various minigames, giveaways and events throughout the day which rewarded cats, Rains and Nitro Gifts.
Cat Bot had this profile picture:

Every time you cought a cat, you contributed to the goal of 1,000,000 pieces. You could view your progress, both server-wide and global, and the server progress, as well as the global progress, and a button to join Cat Stand in the temporary /event command.
After the goal, the image in the /event command appeared leading to an ARG. The ARG eventually went to the same birthday server from 2024. You can see more info about the ARG and the steps it took here.
The 1,000,000 pieces were collected in 3 days, the ARG started on April 24th with the sale ending 2 days after.
Lia has also said there were more puzzle pieces that you couldn't get by simply catching, but this is mainly speculation.
Users were able to choose the new name for the Baby cat via the poll, with the options being "Tiny", "Mini", "Gremlin", and "Cute".
Users also got a Birthday pack for every Baby cat they caught and got 2 rain minutes for catching 10.

In Cat Stand a channel called "#birthday-art-contest" was opened for art submissions.

The top 3 people who made the best art, as judged by Lia, got 100 rain minutes.
This event lasted 5 days.
This occurs every year on June 1st. Roughly on this date there is a Cat Rain sale, usually between 20% and 30%, lasting for a few days. There are no functional or cosmetic changes in Cat Bot nor Cat Stand besides the ads for the sale.
This occurs every year on August 8th. Roughly on this date there will be a Cat Rain sale, usually between 20% and 30%, lasting for a few days. There are no functional or cosmetic changes in Cat Bot or Cat Stand besides the ads of the sale.
This occurs every year in October, where the cat emojis become pumpkins and the server name and banner change. The event ends November 1st. This event also has a 20-30%% Cat Rain sale.
This occurs every year on November 11th, where the 50% Cat Rain sale lasts only for one day. There are no functional or cosmetic changes in Cat Bot or Cat Stand besides the ads for the sale.
This occurs every year in December, where the bot's icon is changed to have a Santa hat on. The status also changes from "Catting in # servers" to "Feeling JOLLY in # servers". This event usually has a pretty long 20% Cat Rain sale.
Cat Bot uses this profile picture:

You got an amount of snowflakes equal to the rounded spawn value of the cats you catch.
500 snowflakes are automatically converted into a Christmas pack.
In addition Christmas packs were also in every voting reward.

This event lasted from December 22nd 2025 to January 1st 2026.
These events have only occurred once, with no plans to bring them back.
On the day that Cat Bot hit 10,000 servers (November 19th, 2023), it was also Lia's birthday. Therefore, a special event occured where the Fine, Nice, and Good cats' spawn chance was all set to 1 (twice as rare as eGirl is usually). This allowed rarer cats to spawn much more often. The event only lasted one day. This also temporarily changed the cats' trade values because of how the calculation for value works.
When Cat bot hit 50k servers, Lia announced an AMA event which was set in a thread channel called "50k-ama". In that channel, anyone could ask a question, within reason, to Lia and get an answer. The event lasted until Cat Bot reached 51k servers, which took about 6 days.
On June 29th 2025, when Cat Bot hit 100,000 servers, Lia gave away a lot of rain in various ways:
1. Cat Stand Giveaway
2. Art Contest
3. Cat Bot Event
4. Rain Sale
The server count also added a "!" to celebrate the occasion.
This event lasted for 5 days, starting March 13th 2026.
During the event people could go to /news to vote for which reward they want: Platinum Packs or Rain Minutes.
The reward type everyone who voted got, including people who chose the losing option, was determined by whichever option gets more votes.
The prize amount would be however many millions of catches all Cat Bot users did during the event duration (Cat Bot usually averages ~400k a day).
After the event, everyone who voted for either option got 2 free rain minutes.
Everyone who reacted on the news post in Cat Stand entered a giveaway for 200 rain minutes.
