These events happen on a yearly basis. Some events have Cat Rain sales attached, usually going for about a week around the day the event happens on.
Some of these events and sales have inconsistent begin and end times and may vary in execution, but sales happen roughly every other month.
This event occurs every year on April 1st, with some usually goofy stuff to prank Cat Bot users.
During this April Fools, all cat types' rarities got visually swapped. This shouldn't have affected the actual cats, but a bug was found which allowed converting flipped cat types into actual cat types so everything was rolled back when the event ended.
During this April Fools, you were required to pass a CAPTCHA before catching a cat. This was done by redirecting users to a website with a reCAPTCHA which caught the cat upon completion. There was a bug which allowed you to catch cats in any channel (including private ones) and as any user by modifying the website link. This resulted in some users in Cat Stand getting absurdly big "slow catch" times by catching old cats from testing channels and users who never joined the server (example: notexttospeech) getting credit for catching cats.
The Cat Stand server icon was also changed to this image to mimic a fake ping from the server:
This April Fools event had a very negative reception so further April Fools events no longer interrupt the catching flow.

This occurs every year on April 21st, where the cat emojis and the bot's PFP wear a birthday hat. This event also has the highest Cat Rain sale amounts, up to 50%.
This event also often has some fun activity attached to it:
In 2023, there were no events and Cat Bot just had some updates.
In 2024, there was an almost 20 hour long event held in a separate "Cat Bot Birthday" server which featured normal catching channels along with various minigames, giveaways and events throughout the day which rewarded cats, Rains and Nitro Gifts.
In 2025, a Cat Piece goal. Every time you cought a cat, you contributed to the goal of 1,000,000 pieces. You could view your progress, both server-wide and global, the server progress, the global progress, and a button to join Cat Stand in the temporary /event
command.
After the goal, the image in the /event
command appeared leading to a scuffed ARG, the ARG eventually went to the same birthday server like in 2024, more info about the ARG and the steps it took here.
The ARG started at approximately 9:40:30am EST on April 24th, and ended at 12:06pm EST, and the sale ended 2 days after.
Lia has also said there were more puzzle pieces that you couldn't get by simply catching, but this is mainly speculation.
This occurs every year on June 1st. Roughly on this date there will be a Cat Rain sale, usually between 20% and 30%, lasting for a few days. There are no functional or cosmetic changes in Cat Bot nor Cat Stand besides the ads for the sale.
This occurs every year on August 8th. Roughly on this date there will be a Cat Rain sale, usually between 20% and 30%, lasting for a few days. There are also no functional or cosmetic changes in Cat Bot or Cat Stand once again besides the ads for the sale.
This occurs every year in October, where the cat emojis become pumpkins. The event ends November 1st. This event has a 30% Cat Rain sale.
This occurs every year in December, where the bot's icon is changed to have a Santa hat on. On Christmas 2024, the status changed from "Catting in # servers" to "Feeling JOLLY in # servers". This event usually has a pretty long 20% Cat Rain sale.
These events have only occurred once, with no plans to bring them back.
On the day that Cat Bot hit 10,000 servers (November 19th, 2023), it was also Lia's birthday. Therefore a special event occured where the Fine, Nice, and Good cat's spawn chance was all set to 1 (twice as rare as eGirl is usually). This allowed rarer cats to spawn much more often. The event only lasted one day. This also temporarily changed cat's trade values because of how the calculation for value works.
When Cat bot hit 50k servers, Lia announced an AMA event which was set in a thread channel called "50k-ama". In that channel, anyone could ask a question (within reason) to Lia and get an answer. The event lasted until Cat Bot reached 51k servers, which was about 6 days. The channel has then been archived, and soon later privated.
Roughly on this date there are Cat Rain sales, usually between 20% and 30%, lasting for a few days. There are usually no functional or cosmetic changes in Cat Bot nor Cat Stand besides the ads for the sale.
On this day in 2024, eGirl cat spawn rates were multiplied by 10, bringing it up to a 0.487% chance of spawning (20 in 4108), from 0.0487%. This also temporarily changed cats' trade values because of how the calculation for value works.
On the day when Cat Bot hit 100,000 servers (June 29th 2025, 11:00 EST), Lia gave away a lot of rain in various ways:
1. Cat Stand Giveaway
People who joined Cat Stand and clicked the first reaction under the event newspost joined the 5 day long giveaway.
There was a total of 10 winners who got 40 minutes each.
2. Art Contest
Again in Cat Stand a channel called "#100k-art-contest" was opened for art submissions.
The top 5 people who got the most community votes in 12 days (with ❤️) got 250, 150, 100, 50 and 50 rain minutes respectively.
3. Cat Bot Event
4. Rain Sale
The server count also had an "!" to celebrate the occasion.
